It’s not all motor oil and diesel fumes in the Editorial Department at Edmunds.com. On Tuesday, the third floor was filled with the sweets scent of frosting — oh, so much frosting — for the inaugural Awesome Edmunds’ Editorial Cupcake Bake-Off.

Bake-Off mastermind and Deputy Managing Editor, Caroline Pardilla, took home the Best in Show prize, as well as Most Delicious, for her Cinnamon Roll Cupcakes.

Carroll Lachnit, Features Editor, made the dark and dreamy Ultimate Chocolate Ganache Cupcakes, which won Best Everyman Cupcake and Ugly Duckling.

Michelle Magoffin, Director of Social Media, made Cookies and Cream Cupcakes that were deemed the Sexiest Cupcakes. Who knew?

These surprisingly vegan and surprisingly alcoholic cupcakes were made by Bryn Mackinnon, Senior Editor. The Mucho Margarita Cupcakes were voted Most Fun.

It’s strawberry season here in the strawberry capital of the world, and Donna DeRosa, Managing Editor, took full advantage of that with her Chocolate Strawberry Cupcakes.

Erin Riches, Senior Editor, almost didn’t make the bake-off. She came straight from the track and dropped her Brown Sugar Poundcake Cupcakes off just before the judging concluded.

Judging the cupcakes were Scott Oldham, Editor in Chief; Dan Frio, Automotive Editor; Mark Takahashi, Automotive Editor; Ron Montoya, Consumer Advice Associate; and Aaron Lewis, Corporate News Producer.
